This book really is an essential guide for anyone interested in the history of Modern design. Acessible and well-written, it clearly outlines the major theories of Art, Architecture and design of the twentieth century.

I am not an architect but a student of interior design. The book gave an interesting introduction into the artistic inspiration and processes going on at the period from Morris to Grotius. Personally I loved it.
