I cannot stress enough how much these headphones give you more than you are paying for. I would recommend these as excellent sound reproduction on a budget scale (and will get better with use)

Bass lines are respectfully reproduced and as low as 10hz... I can't emphasise enough just how good a range that is. It's low and you probably wont hear it, but its there.
High ends will amaze, revealing sound not detected before which is exciting bring a new lease of life to over played tracks. They produce serious sound seperation and clarity so make sure your audio source is as good as these headphones.

The build quality is great for the price and has a very unique style which give it a slightly retro feel without feeling dated. These headphones are quite large but incredibly confortable. Something else I can't emphasise enough; the comfort.

To summarise I would say in my opinion I would have paid way more than the original price. If you have never bought a pair of quality headphones then these will have you amazed when new sounds, tones, ambiences are revealed.

Expensive for headphones to be sure, but you simply won't expect the quality of sound you get from this headset. I suspect you'll be more than pleasantly surprised.

Don't think twice, just buy. Hope this helps.

I've got Senn 595 and 650's. I delved deep to find forums on these Pioneers and they are exactly as people have raved about them. They are definitely on par with the 650's for sound stage, undistorted high volumes. The are better, yes better for detailed mids than the 650's with superb full bass that's not muddy or rolls. I hate ear piercing trebles. Non of that with the Pioneers. Clear, slightly veiled vocals, but non fatiguing. Some say the headband slips? Heck, are they trying to do aerobics with these on? I've had no problems and no vice like grip which is very common on too many headphones. Very comfortable velour ear pads that cover my large ears. I can, and have worn these for hours on end. The lead is rather too long for my liking and non detachable. However, it is in braided cord with a quality spring flexed jack plug. The total build quality is a sheer work of art. Live recordings make you feel that you are in the second row from the front of a gig. They must be amp driven to release the pure sonic quality that these cans can deliver, and deliver they do. I tend to use these more than the Senns now. I just love them in every way. Price wise......New, around £90 ( worth much, much more) I got mine second hand for the give away price of £60. If you thought the 650's were the dog's doo dah's ( like I did) then buy these and you will be absolutely amazed!

First of all, profuse thanks to everyone at Amazon for sorting this item out for me. The second pair DID arrive, and here's what I've found, so far.

Impressive packing! Pioneer seem to take the trouble to ensure their products get to us users in the best possible quality. These were tied into the box they came in, so that they couldn't move whilst in transit. Upon opening up the box, the headphones look stunning. A little on the loose side, they will be something I could wear for hours at a time. The ear pads are very soft and comfortable. It's a long time since I've found such wearable comfort.

You'll find, if you get a set of these that the cable is extremely long! That will enable me to walk around the room whilst listening - something I haven't been able to do for months. The supplied pin connector isn't a standard plug-in, but rather, it screws onto the tip of the smaller plug. Therefore, these are useable in an .mp3 unit, or a standard stereo setup. The cable length makes them perfect for OB/DJ use.

Well, that's what they look and feel like. How do they sound? I'll start with plugging them into my Pioneer A-209R amplifier. There are two songs I want to test. Michael Jackson's Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough (for the bass response), and Slik's Space Bass for the percussion.

The bass sound is perfectly reproduced on MJ's record; Oh YEAH, the percussion on Slik's song is awesome. Crisp, loud, perfect.

I will have to get used to the extremely crisp high frequencies. So far, very impressed on first listening. I normally use my headphones on my IMG Stage Line Eclipse mixer, so let's run the same two tests through that!

Oh, now there's a huge difference in volume that none of my other headphones picked up.
