Pioneer has packed an incredibly wide range of features into this unit, which measures just 55 mm in height. A 10-bit Video Signal D/A Converter sits at the heart of the machine, ensuring you get the best possible picture at all times. Compatible equipment can also benefit from an even better quality image by using the RGB output provided via the player's SCART socket, letting you view recordings without the loss in detail associated with conventional composite video outputs.
When it comes to playing back discs, the Pioneer DV-464S gives you plenty of choice. Modified to provide multi-region playback, you can easily play DVDs from all over the world (although please note that an NTSC compatible TV will be required to watch region 1 discs). Other types of disc are also catered for, with playback options including VCD, SVCD, DVD-R/RW (both "Video" mode and "Video Recording" mode), CD-RW, CD-R and CD. If you have a CD burner on your computer you can also benefit from the ability of the DV-464S to playback MP3 and WMA audio files and view JPEG image files such as those produced by digital cameras.
The player's well laid-out remote control lets you take control of the host of extra features that the player includes, including the ability to take a closer peek at your favourite scenes with a funky zoom and scroll function. Pioneer's TruSound enhancement technology is also built in. This gives you the ability to experience an unbelievably real surround sound effect using just two speakers, such as those on your existing TV or stereo.
