Purchased this system to go with my Panasonic TX-P42G Neo-plasma TV. Started out with a Pansonic 2.1 system that didn't quite cut it and was tempted to go with the Panasonic B230 5.1 but saw the Pioneer going cheap (£249 at time of purchase) and opted for it knowing Pioneer are "the" brand when it comes to TV based electronics. I was not dissapointed. The tiny sattelite speakers are crisp and detailed and so tiny that they do not junk up the room. Size of speakers was a big issue for me as I dislike the large and highly visible high tower speakers. The centre "voice" speaker is substantially larger than the sattelites and delivers on clarity for all important voice. The entry level Panasonic systems tend to have a centre speaker of the same dimensions as the sattelites (maybe for cheapness?). Pioneer does not compromise. The massive sub woofer brings home the thud sounds with clarity and conviction--no wimpy bass here. Picture-wise, the blu ray is perfect. The power unit is heavy and the finish has that expensive feel to it. Nothing light and plasticky here. The volume control is nicely designed, well damped and features a lighted volume control knob. It is relatively easy to use but NOT as easy as the Panasonic when working with a Panasonic TV. Overall, possibly the best choice at sub [] if sound quality is favoured over absolute ease of use which the Panny gives you when using one of their later models. Amazon currently have this for][ which is a steal.
