This Pinnacle MediaSuite is one of the best video-editing suites that you will ever find! The package comes with 3 cds and 1 extra DVD guide for beginners and the program includes enhanced video editing with picture-in-picture and also Green Screen or Chroma-Key tools. I was surprised to find wrapped up inside the box, my very own beginners Green Screen too!

When I began using the program I discovered that it also has tools for Ambient Surround Sound where you just click and drag to make sounds rumble, vibrate and travel up and down or around a room. This is all you need for the perfect movie.

Very Flaky 8 July 2007
By Karl
As a veteran of video editing I made sure that I went out and bought the most powerful PC I could possibly afford with lots of storage space to accommodate lots of projects. I purchased Pinnacle Studio 7 at least 5 years ago and was pretty impressed with its performance. The time came pretty soon when I needed to upgrade to a package that could handle digital including DVD and the many formats of audio files. I chose Pinnacle Studio 9 but was not very impressed with it keep freezing. I also had a trial version of Power Director 4 which although a lot more basic was much more stable, something you can't say about version 5.

I recently upgraded to Pinnacle 10.5 and must admit it's a lot better than 9 and with all the extra effects I purchased it was pretty good indeed. However, it still has the tendancy to crash, especially if you are moving clips, but the upside is it has already saved your changes so you've not lost all your work.

The serious problems come when you come to render the finished project, it is very fussy unless you have every single setting correct and will refuse to burn to DVD unless you have it perfectly synchronised for that operation. Eventually I ended up saving the project as a file and then using the now quite old Power Director 4 to put it to a DVD. The resulting DVD is very shaky, and I can assure you the original, unedited one, isn't. I've never had a problem with Power Director so I can only presume that it is Pinnacle.

My next project is already underway and I think I'll be using the tried and tested Power Director.

Disappointed 3 Feb 2006
By A Customer
Totally disapointed. Used Pinnacle products before thought they were terrific. This one wouldn't load, downloaded all the new drivers. Got it loaded and everytime I tried to use it, it crashes. I use a top spec machine so no excuses. Not value at any price. Stick with what you know.
