Jan has done it again for Pinnacle Studio users! The manual can be used as bedtime reading or left on the shelf until you have a problem, then just look it up. I prefer the former as Jan gets into the nuts and bolts of Pinnacle and his style of writing makes it feels like he is sat in the room with you.
I always make a point of buying a 3rd party manual for my video editing programs as the user manuals only contain the bare essentials to get you started. However this one is the best.
Jan uses his own experiences to demonstrate the the workings of Pinnacle Studio 11 and yes, Ultimate is also included. Even Pinnacle didn't cover Moving Picture, Sound Soap and Vitascene in the Ultimate user manual!
This is my second Jan Ozer manual and it is excellent!

If you buy Pinnacle Studio 11 or 12, you must buy this book. It explains everything in clear concise details, but is easy to understand.
I repeat - do yourself a favour and buy this book!

Others better qualified than myself have reviewed the technical aspects of this book. My compulsion to embark on my own review arises from the superb writing style, clarity and sheer understandability which the author imparts to this work.

In the past I have frittered away a small fortune on editing software and third party "Support Manuals" in an effort to find a system which works for me. My quest had always been unsuccessful until now, The systems I had tried included Sony Vegas and various incarnations of Adobe Premiere Elements. In every case when I got down to the nitty gritty of precise enquiry my search for that vital piece of information always failed. I feel that I am not particularly thick or techno phobic so perhaps my mind moves in mysterious ways. However, there must be others who are inhibited by the inability to locate that vital kernel of missing instruction. How many copies of editing software are lying around unused, unloved and misunderstood?

Well, rejoice! Our superhero has emerged and has chosen "Jan Ozer" as his cover identity. This man should be knighted or at least be awarded the Nobel prize for services to struggling would be film producers. Without this great man I would still be fumbling about in search of that knowledge which is now literally at my fingertips. The key to that enigma is right there in the book and it is called "The Index." Every time I look up a topic in the index the direct route to its resolution is there. At last I can understand what I am supposed to be doing.

This is a major breakthrough and means that I can now complete a video production on purpose rather than as the result of following the headless chicken method. If you think that you have been as inept as me then take heart. It is not us it is the combined lack of insight of some software houses and other self styled experts which has sought to repress us. No more. Jan Ozer to the rescue. Re-install the software, get a copy of this book and "Go boldly," it really is that good.

PS To Jan Ozer:- How about a Guide for Sony Vegas?
