Pinnacle InstantCD/DVD is a suite of useful utilities all dedicated to the creation of CDs and DVDs. It consists of InstantDisc, Pinnacle Expression, InstantBackup, InstantCopy, InstantDrive, InstantWrite and InstantMusic. There's also a built-in label editor, so you can create labels for your CDs and DVDs and their cases.
InstantDisc is a CD-R and DVD-R burning utility, similar in function and looks to programs like Nero and Easy CD Creator. Like these programs, it offers an easy-to-use Wizard for creating new disks, as well as an Explorer-style interface for those who like to drag-and-drop file selections when compiling new CDs. It lacks the ability to recognise drive speeds and there's no mention in the program or its documentation of support for buffer under-run protection. Disc copies appear to all be made via a hard drive data buffer.
Pinnacle Expression is a simple digital video compiler that enables you to specify video clips, order them and produce a DVD menu for the finished disc. There's very little editing capability within the program, but it's fine for preparing simple DVDs of your home videos.
InstantCopy copies CDs and DVDs directly from one disc to another. It's a very easy-to-use, one-click application but won't copy protected DVDs, so don't buy it expecting to pirate a movie collection from your local video library. You can also use it to create disk images of unprotected CDs or DVDs which can be held on your hard drive and loaded into InstantDrive. This makes them available at high speed from virtual CD or DVD drives.
Instant Backup is another straightforward routine that enables backups of individual files, folders or complete partitions. It's similar in function to the backup routine in Windows XP and, like that applet, doesn't include a scheduling function.
InstantMusic enables you to gather together and sequence audio clips to produce your own music. While pretty much an entry-level application, it does share a well-thought out CD and DVD labeller with other parts of the suite. This little application includes a range of interesting, coloured backdrops and can import track details automatically to add to case inserts. --Simon Williams

Very simple and easy to use. Refused to copy only 1 out of 10 discs (protection issues). It recognised my NEC DVD+RW ND1100A which neither Nero 5.5 or Adaptec Easy CD/DVD Creator managed!

I had a cover mounted version of Instant cd/dvd which seemed to be fantastic apart from certain features where locked. So i decided to ditch the nero that came with my burnere and invest in Instant CD/DVD 7 and ever since i've had nothing but problems. Firstly the whole point of buying the package was to author DVD's. the package had an easy to use and well laid out format that i was most pleased with i spent hours designing a menu system for a freinds wedding video once complete i went to burn the disc and that is where the problems started. The progress bar got to 27% every time and stopped there i left the software running over night (nearly 18 hours in total) and still no joy. I went on-line for help the customer services mearly suggested i try all the things i had tried. I then got replys from people experiancing the same problem who have had no joy from the customer services. I've tried encoding in numerous formats formatting my hard drive. The only thing that worked was buying Ulead Videostudio 7 this has no menu options but at least it burnt the footage to disc. Instant does copy CD's but on the odd ocasion still fluffs that up. Try something else.

a very easy to use and clear package will fullfill all your copying needs for music cd's and video dvd's also lets you backup your hard drive to dvd and edit and burn photo's and video to cd or dvd will allow you to burn a dual layer disk on to a single layer disk with no loss of quality well worth the money
