This "bible" remains in the core Floyd library. The first edition, published in the late 70s, had the misfortune to conclude with the release of Rick Wright's solo album Wet Dream - hardly a high point in Floydology, from either a commercial or musical angle. The book's strength, however, is its reporting of the psychedelic era, in which author Miles played a major role. The blockbusting Wall saga provided a more suitable bookend: updated to cover events up to the legendary 1980 concerts, the book was republished twice in the early 80s (the first has a live photograph on the cover, the second a drawing from the Wall movie). It was also filleted for the pocket-sized and entirely meritless The Pink Floyd Illustrated Discography and Another Brick In The Wall, the latter of which added only a paragraph about The Final Cut to justify its existence. By the 90s, Andy Mabbett had augmented Miles' original book - and, although there have been a handful of excellent Floyd titles since then, this remains a great place to start.
