Both of my girls are mad about Lego, we have just booked another trip to Legoland and realised that the really expensive part of this is the shops, so why not take our holiday presents with us?? I have just opened the box and although the people are immediately recognizable as not authentic lego, the bricks and slates are exactly the same, (a far cry from the knock-off Lego that was around 20 years ago. A similar set of 'real' Lego would probably cost 3x the price so this has saved quite a lot of money.

....update, built these now, and they seemed to go together quite well, there was one block that had not been moulded correctly and kept 'jumping' off the baseboard but managed to secure it with other bricks from above... and after looking at the prices at legoland still very happy that i took this!!

First of all, i didnt even want to give this one star, but there was no choice to give it none.

Also, i have never written a review for anything before and i wouldnt usually bother-but this toy is so poor i felt i had to, because i am so annoyed!

I bought this for my daughter for christmas after looking in lego shops etc for some girly lego to add to her small collection. When i found this for £35 and saw that it was '100% compatible with lego" i obviously thought it was a bargain and ordered it.

WELL. oh my god, what a nightmare. She was so excited to build it up in to the castle so we got started on christmas morning... haha.

The pieces DO NOT fit together well at all. You have to really use strong force to put them on, then most of the pieces just pop back off. Its ridiculous and really unfair.

I could bet on it that nobody who has bought this product has ever managed to finish building the castle.

One touch and the whole thing just falls apart and you're back to where you were half an hour ago.

very frustrating and dissapointing :(

DONT be tempted by the pretty picture and the misleading description. worst £35 i've ever spent.

That is all!

I ordered this for my granddaughter. She wanted the Lego castle displayed on the back of her Lego shop box. However, it has been discontinued and this was recommended as a similar item. It looked a good alternative but it is not nearly as easy to handle as Lego and too difficult for a 6y old to do and so not good as a construction toy. However once assembled it looks good and they (4 and 6y old girls) enjoy playing fantasy games with it.

We bought this for our Granddaughter for Christmas. What a disapointment. It took two adults over four hours to try and assemble it. Not once were they able to even half complete it before it disintegrated into a pile of pieces. The pieces just do not stay together and there was also a door missing from the set as well. Sorry Amazon, I have returned it as I do not think this has any play value at all and is one of the worst toys that I have purchased in all my years. It certainly does not live up to the Amazon description or our expectations; it's not as if it was a cheap purchase either.

6 yr old had this for Christmas. I have spent hours trying to build it (as it's too hard for her to put together) and every time I get so far and the whole thing disintegrates. The pieces aren't molded properly and some just pop off seconds after you've put them together. The whole thing stands on pink "leg" pieces which look solid but are hollow and just can't take the weight. I used some of our proper lego pieces as extra reinforcement "props" and to replace the 4 pieces which were missing from the start. In the end so as not to disapoint her I stuck most of it together with selotape. Then the first time she tried to play with it the whole thing collapsed to bits again.

Go for proper lego. We have this and have never had any problems at all.

It would get ZER0 stars from me if there was an option to rate it at that.

Not built it all yet due to it been demolished with a 2 year old and her 5 year old sister they wanted to help to build it But then again it was theirs , they were putting bricks anywhere. What we did build was very difficult my daughter and I ( the grandma ) spent about 2 hours just doing the bottom base , bricks jumping out just as we got it more secure to start the next layer along came the kids to help and you can guess what happened . We have decided to try re-build it at a later date with no children there . A bit too hard for young ones to do more for about an 8 year old that can follow instructions and have lots of patience . A good price as others were charging almost double and the service was excellent it was delivered within a couple of days from ordering .

I spent a lovely hr or 2 putting this together with my 7 yr old on xmas morning, the instructions were easy to follow and although it's not as big as I imagined, my daughter was happy with it.The plastic the bricks are made of isn't as good quality as proper lego but 5 months on, nothing is broken yet (except the thin tabards/dresses for the figures)and is still reguarly played with. This fits with proper lego and kello kitty mega bloks house (which we also got). Overall I am very happy with this. It was in my budget and my daughter enjoys redesigning her castle each week...win, win.
