5.0 out of 5 stars Great British Films 18 July 2007
Format:Hardcover
This is a huge book, which I suppose is no surprise as it covers all 70 years of Pinewood films, and information about the studios themselves.
I am a film enthusiast and am looking forward to spending many happy hours looking back through the old stuff and seeing behind the special effects of the new 'blockbusters'.

5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect film book 18 July 2007
Format:Hardcover
For anyone remotely interested in the world of films this is a real treat. The text covers the history of film making at Pinewood over seventy years and incorporates engaging stories, well researched history and fascinating insight into filmaking through the decades. Many of the great names in British film history are brought vividly to life and British film making is rightly celebrated. But more than anything the selection of pictures is a delight. There are over 400 images, many never previously seen, and these give a wonderful reminder, often from behind the scenes,of why the world of films is so glamorous and fascinating.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disapointing 12 July 2007
Format:Hardcover
The lavishly illustrated volume features many wonderful photos charting the history of the studio - though some are a quite poor in quality

Whilst the text is interesting, it doesn't really get under the skin of Pinewood and seems a little corporate in style and there is a distinct feeling of deja vu.

If this was the first book of its kind I would give it a higher rating but to be honest there are better books on Pinewood.
