Is how I would describe this 5 year collection of comic strips based on an eclectic bunch that somehow unerringly seem to describe all sorts of PhD students - worldwide, and their experiences, and their joys and sorrows and what they live for! Spoofs (on the Matrix, Star Wars, Indy Jones, Isaac Newton), free food, evil advisors, hot geeks in tank tops, Laws of Graduation (for every action towards graduation, there is an equal and opposite distraction) - they are all there, If you are one or know a PhD student, this is probably your best dose of Procrastination (to be) Had Daily!

Procrastinating phd student - check.
Noodles diet - check.
Year of graduation unknown - check.
Low to no income - check.
Living and working in a cubicle - check.
Wouldn't recommend grad school to my worst enemy - check.
...

Yes, you can read all these comics online. But see I'm a second generation phd wannabe. I'm collecting these books so if my kids (?) ever even mention grad school to me I'll have something to scare them with.
...
No, just kidding, it's a great experience (!!!) - 'original contribution to knowledge' - low responsibility - putting off real life - bla bla bla - ...plenty of advantages (!!!). All you have to do is sacrifice your spirit, creativity, ambition ... and as you do that you get bitter and unsociable, and become a hermit. Who wouldn't want that !?!
What I'm trying to say is that these comics are funny, ironic and not to be taken seriously.

PhD is a long-running newspaper comic strip which follows the lives of a cast of postgraduate students. All the trials, tribulations and quirks of postgrad life come up in ways that makes any postgrad who recognises them teeter between laughter and tears.

It's therapy in book form for PhD students; read it to wrap your head around your postgrad life, or to understand why your child is in their late-20s and yet is _still_ in school.
