Product Description

Product Description

Although Pilates has recently become extremely popular, there are few books aimed specifically at men. This book teaches you how to get the most from Pilates by allowing you to structure and pace your own workout. As you progress you can choose from basic, intermediate and advanced workouts, and select exercises according to your sport to develop specific strength in different muscle groups. "Pilates for Men" also gives advice on how to improve your posture and to avoid aches and pains, and includes a lifestyle section to help you feel good, both mentally and spiritually.

About the Author

Three of his books, Pilates: Creating the Body You Want, The Busy Person's Guide to Pilates and Pilates Plus are published by Gaia Books.

Fat to fit 23 Nov 2010
Format:Paperback
A friend suggested Pilates as a simple form of exercise that could be done from home, keeping it straightforward and cost effective. This book does everything it says on the tin, so to speak. As I am over 60 and overweight I've lost my flexibility and this book has begun to bring some movement back. There are specific sections that deal with individual sports and as an ex hockey player and swimmer they are very useful and give you a regime that works , rather than aimlessly going through the pages. I would recommend this book to any person of my age or older but also wish I'd have seen it earlier , in mt 50's as it would have kept my fitness level up.

Not useful 7 May 2011
By SB - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is not a useful book. It is not even specific for men. I wonder why it states that it targets that audience. One would be better off buying a more thorough, comprehensive book and apply that knowledge to practice.
