Format:Audio CD
...then you will most likely love this too!. All the elements of 'vintage' X is there! - I thought waynes voice was lossing it on Cult - But - its back to being on form.!
Nothing will beat Statics Wisconsin or Machine tho! - so dont expect too much from it and you'll find tracks to enjoy :D ! -4 stars - just because its NOT static!
Lets hope static X can re-form for the near future (and find a decent replacement for campos)!!!!
- Until then I shall enjoy waynes solo project - and I advise you to give it a go!

Sounds like Cult of Static

Pretty obvious that Wayne was one of the biggest forces behind Static-X. Liked their stuff even through the few years they had a different line-up (slower paced, more radio friendly songs then). The last CD, Cult of Static, was a bit of a different direction than the previous CD's but also felt a little more like Wisconsin Death Trip. It was a good CD to listen to straight through.
That being said, this pretty much sounds like Cult of Static just with less hard hitting guitars and no bass guitar. No bass took of a star from me because that removes a lot of depth from the music. Another difference is that the tempo of most songs is a little slower than a lot of the old Static-X songs. Wayne did add in some synth to this CD which is interesting. Overall, I'm pleased with his first solo effort and I'm hoping to hear some more.

Good if you're a Static-X fan

Wayne Static said in an interview that he wrote everything for Static-X, now he just does it all by himself. So the album is pretty much Static-X with Wayne Static on every instrument. Still some good guitar riffs and solid chugging, but more trance music involved now. I've been a fan of Static-X since Wisconsin Death Trip, so I think it's a decent album. If you haven't listened to much Static-X or don't know what to expect, try just downloading a track or two (like "Assassins of Youth") and see how it goes.

I love Static X, but this just didn't have the same feel to it. I guess It'd be as OK as any other band I wasn't thrilled to listen too if I hadn't had higher expectations. I know this is Wayne's new project and I shouldn't be comparing the two ventures. However, aside from a song or two and a few random riffs this just doesn't have the same crushing drive I've come to appriciate from Wayne's work over the last decade....
