A brilliant poem full of vivid scenes that capture the imagination. The rhythm and rhyme carry the reader lightly along through the familiar tale until the atmosphere changes and the terrible conclusion begins to unfold. With its attractive cover and illustrations this complete version of Robert Browning's classic poem is ideal for children over the age of nine or ten and also ideal for adults who want to revisit a favourite story from their childhood.
Five stars to the poet and five stars to the illustrator.

Not a good book for young children - not enough pictures and too wordy. Language too advanced.Certainly no good for nursery or primary school age.
