I recently picked up this story as a free book on Amazon and I am so glad I did! Ms Puckett does a fantastic job of looking at the very difficult issue of wife abuse, as this is a story about a woman, Kelli, who is horribly abused by her husband, Mark, for many years until one night she finally decides to do something about it - or does she? I can't say anymore without giving away the completely unexpected ending.

At first I really didnt know what to expect. I was like 'hey mister police dude, why are you being so harsh. This woman is traumatised!" then I was like ooooohhhh, ok, I see now.
grisly, great description and horrific circumstances.
I really enjoyed this short story and wouldnt put it down until the end. For a short story it has a great twist at the end and I really felt for the family.

Like shattered pieces of glass, this short story cuts right to the bone, intentionally. It is an abused woman's tale that is both shocking and very disturbing. It reads like a horrific accident that causes multiple rubbernecking on a highway. You can't seem to turn your eyes away as you pass it wondering what happened to the injured, lone survivor. The symbolic paranormal twist at the end was unexpected.

I downloaded this gem of a short story a short while ago, but only had time to read it this weekend. Two words, holy cow!!! Up until now, most of the short stories I've read were preludes to a series, so more like a character intro, but without a beginning, middle and end. Not so with Pieces. The conclusion blew me away. Regina Pucket delivered the story of a woman who suffered a lifetime of abuse at the hands of her husband, and she may have snapped. When detectives question her about the death of her husband, we are left to wonder. Did she do it, or not? With the turn of each page, I kept going back and forth on whether or not I believed she did. With the unforgettable ending, how he ended up dead no longer seemed to matter.

I am grateful for the chance to have read this fictional story about true horror!!! Exceptionally told - straight to the heart of how reality can't be changed. That true love ties can't ever be broken!!! What is done is gonna always just be done. Not truly about right and wrong, but what exactly - is!!! I enjoyed it very much!!!
The paranormal finale is massively significant!!!
This is a story for all men and women to read and you will enjoy the message. Wonderful story!!!
