Mudhoney are a band often forgotten about in the grunge arena. Compared to Pearl Jam, Nirvana, The Screaming Trees et al, it isn't hard to see why. But that is not to say that Mudhoney had nothing to offer to the grunge genre.
Nearer in style to the fashionable garage rock of The Strokes and White Stripes, Mudhoney also showed the lighter side to grunge. It didn't have to be depressing.
This album is a classic show of what they offered, humour and parody. Song like Suck You Dry and Acetone contain all the elements of Grunge classics, heavily distorted guitars and drawling vocals.
This CD comes much recomended and is an antidote to any cheerless indie or rock, and certainly worth investing in if you are a fan of other grunge and have never experienced Mudhoney.
