This book is so well written, it is foolproof. Pictures for every stage of making the different blocks, so each block will be the correct size and great for using up all those little pieces of scrap fabric that you have saved for years.

Including a DVD to watch each process is just the icing on the cake, so you cannot go wrong.

This book you will use again and again, nut just read it and put it on the shelf with lots of other books.Piece in the Hoop

This looks to be a really great book, with all I need to get me started.
I only have the basic software that came with my machine [Pfaff creative performance] but I can download and print out the design sheets for the included piecing and embroidery, which another reviewer said they couldn't do. With the design open in the 5D organiser, I right clicked the design, and could then print off thread types and colours, plus a plan of the fabric pieces required for each project.
All very clearly explained, and seemingly idiot proof
Looking forward to using the designs.

I have brought many books but this is the first on I have reveiwed. I wanted to let all thoughs Machine Embroiders and Patchwork and Quilting people just how good this is. The author has gone to geat lenghs to explain how this
pieceing in the hoop works and If your are like me when you watch the DVD that comes with the book you just cant wait to have ago. I did the first project the crazy patch and then jumped to the pincushion, It turned out wonderful. The only thing you have not got is the chart print outs which you need to follow the placements for the peices of fabric explained on the DVD. There are small picture in the book but you can go to her web site and download them.

This is a must have book that you want regret buying and I hope this reviw is of some help.

Only just starting machine embroidery and i love quilting. This book combines both, its step by step instructions, DVD and patterns make first time embroidery a dream. Within an hour of delivery i had created my first block and almost finished the little pressing pad. I highly recommend this book for beginners and experienced embroiderers alike

Very nicely laid out book and easy to follow. Would have given it five but felt some of the projects included were not geared to English sewers - but then it is an American publication so that is to be expected. Would have liked to have seen some small projects eg pieced purses in the hoop or coasters or even the very popular (in the States) mug rugs. After seeing my copy a friend has also bought it.

No CD or link for kindle book which you need to do designs. If you want to use this buy the hardback not the kindle. Frankly I could spit tacks I am so frustrated trying to find a link to the design CD or download. A nice but expensive mistake.
