Product Description

Complete third series of the British television detective drama. Richard Griffiths plays retired detective Henry Crabbe, who left the force after he was shot in order to open up his own restaurant. Unfortunately for Crabbe, he still finds himself being dragged into new cases by his old boss, Assistant Chief Constable Fisher (Malcolm Sinclair). In this series Crabbe has to help out Fisher after he is framed for an accident on a pheasant shoot, deal with his new bank manager after finding out the restaurant is heavily in debt, and investigate a series of mysterious garden thefts. Episodes are: 'Money Talks'; 'Game Pie'; 'Irish Stew'; 'Doggett's Coat and Badge'; 'This Other Eden' and 'Coddled Eggs'.

5.0 out of 5 stars More mouth watering episodes 11 July 2005

Format:DVD
Another excellent dvd containing 6 more episodes. As addictive as the previous 2 series and a very good combination of detective and gastronomic adventures. Like a good wine, these episodes improve with age.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big Chef sorts out the dodgy crooks 22 Sep 2013

We love this series...all of it. Yes, it looks a bit fuzzy on the new TV screens...but it's still good to watch any time. All the characters are excellent: boo and hiss at Crabbe's creepy boss; and cheer when Henry gets the baddies. Hoping to get the next series soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars A cop cooking on gas 13 Mar 2011
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
These detective programmes are very watchable, both for the wonderful acting - particularly Richard Griffiths and Maggie Stead - but also the slightly quirky plots, which nevertheless are completely believable. The characters are all well-drawn and the gentle humour carries things along at a very satisfactory speed.
