Product Description
For nearly six decades, Harry Myers has been a photographer of Royalty and show business occasions. Since 1946, he has been monitoring the annual Royal Film Performance and was continuously employed by what used to be called "Wardour Street" as the film companies' official photographer at their starry celebrations. He has photographed virtually every major film star and movie mogul who came to London to lead the razzmatazz and ballyhoo as their films enriched the nation's cinema screens. The camera unveils a remarkable pictorial record of a former cinematic age of protocol and elegance and reveals a fascinating glimpse of a Royal family graciously ageing over the decades. From Fred Astaire to Hollywood pioneer Adolph Zukor, from James Bond and the Beatles to Elizabeth Taylor and John Wayne, Harry and his son Scott, who has now inherited his red carpet mantle, have been on hand to capture actors lionized in Hollywood who were prepared to undertake long sea voyages and air travel to promote their latest cinematic efforts to shake hands with the Queen and other members of the Royal family. Now with collaborators John Willis and Gareth Owen, Harry has opened his vast archive to produce "Pictures and Premieres".
