Status Quo s album Pictures (released in November 2008) celebrated 40 years of Status Quo filling the UK charts with hit after hit. The album was an instant success, charting at No.8 and selling over a quarter of a million copies in the UK alone. In July 2009 the Pictures live tour landed at Montreux in Switzerland as part of the world famous festival. The band, led as always by the twin Telecasters of Francis Rossi & Rick Parfitt, delivered a blistering set of hits and classic tracks from across their career including no less than 18 UK Top 20 hits. Huge screens behind the stage illustrated high points from Quo s career and the usually reserved Swiss crowd were rockin all over the Auditorium.

I've been waiting for this release for quite some time now and i promise you it's worth the wait.
This deluxe 3 disc edition is sublime, The concert from montreux with a great set list including everything from mean girl to matt's killer drum solo this is quo doing what they do best and that's 100% rock boogie that's really nicely filmed and with nice sound.
Watching this you can tell francis and rick have lost none of their enthusiasm and the rest of the band is tight and professional.
Dvd 2 is the complete documentary pictures with some brilliant footage and hilarious interviews with the band especially with francis who is looking 10 years younger with his short hair,and full of his cheeky humour and witty quotes and is on top form whereas the others are quite subdued,it is quite brilliant,nice to see original drummer john coghlan talking about the beginning's of the band too, this documentary is worthy of purchase alone.
And to top it off you get a 17 track cd from the concert as well as a really nice booklet.
If you love quo you're gonna love this so just go for it, it represents quo at their live best,throw in the documentary and live cd and you have a tremendous well packaged set that's worthy of any quo or indeed music fans collection!

First let me say this is the best ever DVD of Quo live,the NEC gig a couple of years back was very good but this one is better in every way.Sure there's the Quo classic's all in there,plus some never ones and some rock n roll great songs as well.The difference is that the picture quality is superb throughout the show,the sound quality likewise.As one who's collected several Live At Montreaux DVD's over recent years the one thing is the superb quality of every release,tyhroughout the years they have and continue to cover.You don't see on this one so much of the regular Quo banners everywhere or folk with blow-up guitars but an audience still enjoying every minute of a truly classic Quo gig recorded in July this year during this annual jazz festival.You'll know the songs ,you'll know the sound of one of the worlds greatest rock n roll bands but now you can enjoy them in such a high quality product that brings out the very best of this band at the height of their powers.Extras include Rossi and Parfitt cam films on a couple of songs each,a live at Montreaux docu. All in all a great DVD by a great band,
