5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect songs, perfect singer 6 Nov 1999
Format:Audio CD
If you've never heard Edie Brickell before, buy this CD. Why on earth she isn't a world-wide star I can't imagine. And apart from singing like an angel she writes most of the stuff she sings. If you have the Microsoft Windows 95 installation CD, you'll find on that CD, a movie clip of her singing "Good Times". That's where I, and many others, first came across her

5.0 out of 5 stars A fabulous sound! 12 Sep 2002
Format:Audio CD
I've been of Edie for the start and next to Shooting Rubber Bands At The Stars, I would have to say this is a fave album. It was produced by her husband Paul Simon (yes THE Paul Simon) and I think he did an excellent job of giving her the sound she wanted. Edie has a fabulous voice and her writing is second to none. Favourite track, "Green" because it's so true!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best album no-one ever heard of 11 Nov 1999
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I fell in love with the video on the Windows 95 installation CD, and spent over a year tracking the artist and album down. Its now played regularly by me, and my 11 yeear old daughter. Whether its really 'country' as some people say, is debateable. But its warm, humerous and deep. Beautifully performed by a singer with a wonderful voice.

3.0 out of 5 stars disappointing 6 Sep 2005
By Jo
Format:Audio CD
I bought this album a while back expecting more Ghost of a Dog loveliness. I was so disappointed i didn't play it again for several years! It's not a bad album but lacks personality and suffers in comparison with her earlier stuff. Now I'll put it on if I fancy some female vocalist background music that won't interrupt my train of thought. A shame - she has such a lovely fresh and jangly voice.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointed 4 Dec 2004
Format:Audio CD
The album kicks off well, you'll find your toes tapping to Tomorrow Comes. The mood is then taken down by Green, a track that floats around without ever really going anywhere. When the Lights Go Down also plods along. Good Times is good, if totally in the style of Barry White so it comes as no surprise when he guests on it. Another Womans Dream is Edie attempting funk. Stay Awhile would have been a nice acoustic guitar number but they throw too many instruments in and lost the simple beauty they could have had. Olivia has Edie almost going back to the bohemians feel of Rubberbands and Ghost but unfortunatley doesn't quite pull it off. Picture Perfect Morning suffers from the same problems as Stay Awhile. Lost in the Moment is probably the best song on this album but that says more about the album than the song itself. Shall I go on....
If like me you loved Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars and Ghost of a Dog then don't buy this. Edie still seems to be able to write great songs but is badly let down by both the production and the musicians she has surrounded herself with. A case of what could have been, rather than what is.

If I only had one CD to put in my time capsule, it would be this. I'm a great fan, and this is my favourite CD (for sure!)
