I play rock and electric guitar. All my life, I only had to apply in practice barre chords, power chords, open chords and simple chords like maj, min, maj7, min7, 7, 5, sus4 etc. I know these movable chord shapes and how they are built. But I never had to play other chords like m6/9, +7b9, m7b5, 7#11 etc. and so I never learnt.

Recently, I wanted to work on all those chords, how they are built, the formulae and theories to broaden my knowledge. Couple of books that I have don't provide clear and detailed information. They are just with chord charts and notes. Searched for a better book on the internet and found exactly what I wanted.

All the chord charts and photographs of fingers on fretboard in five different voicings, notations, chord notes (C, E, G etc.), intervals (root, 3rd, 5th etc.) are clearly written. Definition and types of chords, intervals, inversions and voicing are also briefly covered. Understanding this book makes you capable of building and playing any chords on guitar.

It's affordable, handy, half the A4 size and fits in guitar case wherever you wanna go. Even for an advanced player or just a beginner, I'm sure it helps a lot as a reference book or guide.

This book is a must for guitar players of ALL levels. The diagrams themselves are worth the money, but the quantity is amazing value.

This is the best book i have seen yet for guitar chords. It is logically structured, extremely clear and you get excellent value for money. If anything there are too many chords! More than what I will ever play, thats for sure. A great buy.

My Bro-in-Law, a most proficient guitar player, wanted a book that showed all(?) the different chords and how to form them. My wife did the research, settled on the above and her brother has hardly stopped raving about how good it is since!
With this book,we seem to have set the bar very high for next xmas.

This is the most useful chord dictionary I've come across: very clear descriptions of chords (diagrams and photographs) giving several inversions of each. There is a concise introduction explaining how chords are structured, and all the chords a competent guitarist is ever likely to need are shown in a logical order, working through the keys. I got it so I could extend my use of jazz & dance band chords, but I've given a copy to my daughter who is beginning to learn the basics: she will find this book a good resource however far she progresses.

I don't usually write reviews on amazon, but I just had to for this book. It's really excellent. There are lots of chords (about five hundred) in five different voicings each, and the chord diagrams are very simple, clear and easy to read, unlike some other chord books I have looked at. I can't really fault this!

WOW, this book is amazing, with diagrams and photos of each chord, organised in a logical order.
My only criticism is that it would be better spiral bound so you could keep it n a music stand and get it to stay open.Otherwise I highly recommend this for anyone starting to need expanded chord abilities.
