This is a well illustrated picture book on the life of Florence Nightingale. It is a good book to read to young readers with clear language used. It gives a good summary of Florence Nightingales life. It includes a list of important dates in Florence Nightingales life at the back of the book. It does not have a contents, index or glossary page. In summary an informative text with lovely pictures, that helps to teach history. Suitable to read out loud to ks1 children.

Great Introductory Biography series 9 April 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book is perfect for K-3 students who just can't wade through those lenghty chapter books. It is abundantly illustrated with adorable pictures to keep little eyes busy while you are reading to them. Florence Nightingale was a young lady who graciously served as a nurse to wounded soldiers and instituted many improvements in the field of nursing. Other titles in the series include, Edison, Jefferson, Lincoln, Washington, Franklin, and more.

Grandkids were fascinated 26 July 2012
By MusicMaker - Published on Amazon.com

My grandkids were fascinated with this story. The book was in like-new condition, and is a wonderful way to present history in a personalized, interesting manner. The four-year-old's parents were dumbfounded when she later answered a radio question about a famous nurse with "Florence Nightingale!"
