5.0 out of 5 stars Good presentation - worn vinyl sound quality! 18 Jan 2012
By James B. Spink HALL OF FAME TOP 100 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I bought this collection mainly for the track by Svensk - Dream Magazine - which I was guided to by the page dedicated to the duo on Mick Capewell's Marmalade Skies; click on the link on the Skies home page. I knew a little of some of the other artists, but many here are undiscovered gems! This is another nicely compiled set from Past & Present with their usual informative booklet giving details of the artists etc. I would point out for those unfamiliar with these collections that the material is dubbed from vinyl discs, rather than master tapes, and the audio quality reflects this. A number of the tracks have a fair amount of distortion and sibilance. I will give Piccadilly Sunshine Part One five stars for its rare content and presentation - but be aware that it does not cover the sound quality!

5.0 out of 5 stars Toytown Lives! 3 Nov 2010
Format:Audio CD
Shadowed in the mists of time, there was once a fairytale of mind blowing music that was considered too minimalist for the mainstream music market. This outstanding collection of long lost gems from the late 60s represents everything that was freaky from the British "Toytown" musical scene from that era.
Carefully compiled here is a collectors dream of long forgotten musical gems crafted here in this fine collection.Tim Andrews "Sad Simon Lives Again" released as a Parlophone single in 1968 is worthy of owning this collection on the merits of this compilation alone. An absolute must for collectors of the British psychedelic scene.
