Could you have a look at her website ?

Mihaela Ursuleasa was found dead in her bed at her Vienna (Austrian) House in August 2012, at the early age of just 33........

According to the Austrian Police, she succumbed (alone...) from a TOTALLY UNEXPECTED massive BRAIN hemorragea , as a main blood vessel seems to have burst inside her head.. and her mother, who lived at the other end of Vienna and called her nearly everyday , discovered the catastrophy in the morning...

Mihaela had planned a series of concerts from August to December 2012 and possibly more....

Now, a young Stefanie (aged about 6) is lamenting for her mother...

Just pray for Mihaela Ursuleasa , please , will you ?

It's a vivacious and modern interpretation by a technically proficient pianist. I liked her versions better than older recordings done by better known pianists. It's different than other versions in a good way. The recording quality is also very good.

This music is a 'rara avis'. This girl has no fear! Her music is crisp and perfect. This is not the CD to go to bed with. It is not easy work and this is not the time when the listener is allowed to get tired. Thank you for a difficult Ravel, thank your for a very powerful Ginastera, thank your for an amazingly high speed, yet unusual Constantinescu.

After Lipatti, Ursuleasa would come. She had become unforgettable for me since hearing Shubert 'trout quintet' on YouTube in which her piano sound was literally and merrily dancing with a clean and vivid rhythm. I thought I heard a new generation of a pianist in her then. For this album Piano & Forte, her sound is powerful, vivacious, strongly rhythmic, clean and yet has warmth. Ginastera is best played on this album but Beethoven, Brahms and Ravel also bear her uniquely new interpretation in the sense where her Shubert was quite new. She might be called the pianist of the age in which woman should be mightier than man in order to solve some critical problems we have inherited from our past generations.
