I buy lots of travel guides and was very disappointed with this one. While it looks nice it provides very little detail and is what I would class as being "dumbed down". I bought this on the internet without seeing it (or other guides in person) and it was not what I expected - as I haven't actually seen others I can't comment on whether they would be better, but having seen this one I would expect they can't be worse.

This is an ok guide. Seems geared more towards pretentious travellers but none the less has some good information. The guide was worth the purchase price for including the after beach bar at Kata. A real find.

All Lonely Planet travel guides are informative - they offer something for everyone whatever your budget and this is no exception.
