This book is very good and I am learning a lot of useful procedures from it. I am computer literate and have had some experience at photo editing. Personally I would challenge the Title - "For Dummies", because it gives the impression that anyone could pick up the book and immediately work through Photoshop Elements. I do think you need to have had some background experience before the book could become really useful. It is not for beginners.

In a word good for some. For me an amateur photogrpher and new kid on the block for Photoshop Elements this was too hard a trudge for me. I found it too wordy and although there many good outcome illustrations for various techniques, in my opinion there was a lack of good step by step photodiagrams. I ended up frustrated by the wordiness and elected for a visual starter book. There must be different grades of Dummies and I am too much of a Dummy for this Dummies book. Possibly a better option for upgrdders who are familiar with the Adobes Photoelements ethos.

This is the manual which should have been enclosed with the Photoshop software. If, like me, you struggle with the online help system, this is a useful alternative. The index could be improved.

Its ok but not the best idiot guide Ive seen, this book is not for dummys but for people who know a few facts and are already used to working with photoshop. I found too much technical stuff and this blured the meat of the detail that is needed to operate photoshop elements 8.

I was Impressed with all the items I have seen about this software in photography magazines. Purchased it together with two individual books due to the lack of a manual(Elements 8 for dummies and a Teach Yourself book) Simple tasks were still extremewly difficult to master compared with Paint Shop Pro. I will persevere with the product but I am extremely disapointed.

Great example of the Dummies range of self teaching manuals; well laid out and easy to follow. Fortunately, the book covers Apple Mac's as well as PC's. Recommended for anyone who wants to get a little more creative with their photo's.
