If you are still using Photoshop 7 for some reason and don't really know much about how Photoshop functions this book is ok. It is definitely for someone starting from ground zero. There are better beginner books than this.
I give 3 stars because when I first read the reviews I thought it would be much more sophisticated. If you are new to the program and still using 7 then many of the instructions are pretty clear and easy to follow.

I have yet to receive my copy but have had it out from our local library and it contains some very good exercises suitable for all stages of photoshop 7
