It's one of the best. It contains lots of new ideas and the cd includes loads of psd files that you can load up and then take apart to see just how it's done. The chapter on painting techniques was particularly useful. There are lots of things I had previously done in Painter which I thought could not be done in Paintshop, but I was wrong! This book tells it all. For the total beginner however I would suggest starting out with Adobe Classroom in a book as WOW assumes quite a lot of knowledge. I decided to buy the recent book straight away, as I have PS CS, and for me as a progressed amateur it's a fantastic source of useful tips, practical guides and good examples.
