This is an excellent though still compact guide and covers most of what a visitor to these areas needs to know. Excellent photos.

Format: Paperback
I bought this book in India as I was intrigued by the glorious birds I saw there. This book just opened so many doors and inspired so much conversation with fellow travellers that I wouldn't dream of being in India without it. I'm not by any means a bird watcher but this book is so accessible that for the 6 months I spent in India, I was one!

Before I purchased this book I was hesitant because it was a (then) large dent in the budget and quite heavy to carry around backpacking, but I never ever regretted having it. I was able to look up every bird I saw, big or small, and it was in here. That so enhanced my trip that i've already packed it for my next trip trekking around the Indian Himalayas.

Excellent photos, fabulous maps and informative descriptions. Buy this book

Informative, good photos, good information on what is common, not so common and the rare. Very professional, good for beginners to advanced. Would recommend and it's not too cumbersome. Birdwatcher of many years and recently spent a few months in Nepal birdwatching and found this book accurate with regard to what I had seen in Nepal - heading to Kerala shortly for more bird watching and will be using this book - though will be looking for another book with drawings as opposed to photographs - when you get drawings they specify the difference in species more accurately.
