The Leica D-Lux 4Leica D-Lux 4 Digital Compact Camera - Black is an absolutely great camera, though the manual that comes with it does not do it justice. Even if this book were just a rearranged and clearly re-written manual it would be welcome. However it goes further than that. The author shows deep knowledge and experience about both the camera and photography in general, and provides some information not present in the manual. It's easy to read compared with a turgid manual and has plenty of illustrations. It was written before the camera firmware version 2.2 was released, so some small changes and additions to the camera function, such as an additional scene setting are not covered, but that is a minor point. Overall I would recommend anyone buying the camera to automatically get this book at the same time.

I love my D-Lux 4. It's a superb little camera but, unfortunately, Leica's own User Manual is pretty basic, confusing and leaves a lot to be desired.
The Panasonic Guide for the Lumix LX3-a similar camera- is much better, but this Book is far superior to both.

Clearly written, well illustrated and very easy to understand, the Book tells one how to harness the power of the menu system and controls. When guiding the reader through the camera's many powerful options, it also unlocks secrets that are hidden or not mentioned at all in the User's manual.Importantly, this book tells one HOW to use these many options. Yes, the book may seem a little expensive but, believe me, this is a classy paperback and well worth the money. "Buy Now, you will not regret it."

I've actually got the Panasonic DMC-LX3, buts that's technically the same camera as the Leica D-Lux 4 so the guide is invaluable and MUCH easier to comprehend than the Panasonic manual.

Very informative manual set out in a logical format, would recommend to a budding armature but take it in stages.

My new (4 year old) Leica D-Lux 4 has a good manual but with so many features unexplained I needed a good guide book. Excellent coverage.

I only spotted this on 21st December and decided to order it as an additional, but inevitably late, Christmas gift for my husband who is a keen photographer and has recently purchased this camera (and loves it already). To my delighted surprise, the book (and a DVD I had also ordered) arrived on Christmas Eve, so thank you so much to Amazon for such a good service - especially when you realise that I live in France and ordered from Amazon UK! And the book has gone down a storm - it has been his reading of choice all day on Christmas Day! He has already said that it is really useful for the hints and tips it is giving him on using this camera.
