5.0 out of 5 stars A Thriller Epic 22 May 2012
By Big
Format:Kindle Edition
In my opinion the Phoenix series is a modern thriller epic that has an especially chilling quality in light of the maniacal doomsday schemes of survivalists around the world. While set in the US following a kind of "super-911" apocalypse engineered by a major-league conspiracy (beginning on the West Coast from which Magnus Trench, a.k.a., Phoenix, makes his way eastward) this story could take place in many another global locale. The way the story is told is highly imaginative, making it considerably different and in some ways considerably better than many another action-adventure series tale. Gets my recommendation.

I was a fan of this genre back in the 90's. I missed this series so I was excited to find this available for the Kindle.
Did not disappoint. These books are packed with action and interesting stories.
Nice to buy all five books at once

5.0 out of 5 stars Unabashed Phoenix rave 28 Aug 2013

This is an unabashed rave about the complete Phoenix action series. This keystone adventure series is a saga that, like the Phoenix itself, is a timeless tale.

One thing I'd like to make clear to those who may be interested is that this is in no way, shape or form some kind of science fiction thing but actually a boundary-breaking epic action-adventure saga. The series was obviously far ahead of its time in throwing out old conventions which dictated that anything written about or set in a future world system was simply by this yardstick of measurement alone "sci-fi." Today, future or alternate future stories have become part of the mainstream entertainment and literature. The old categories are no longer valid (actually, they never were). Therefore, to anybody who thinks this is even remotely sci-fi I say take a reality check. Just some thoughts about this fantastic book.

3.0 out of 5 stars like rading a B-Movie 29 Jan 2012

first this is not one book but the whole "Poenix"-Series compelled in one book so you get a lot to read for your money, on the other hand its not for everyone, its violent dirty and often sexistic. The boys Run around shooting each other, the main hero is like a superhero and even when the people around him often vanish or die he lives on to tell the tale. The author often describes how the bullets fly may it be in an ark or like a W girls are there as capitives, for sex or both and sometimes its not quite logical but fun. a good example for everyone to read is that in the second chapter (you can "look into the book" a veteran who should be out of practice takes out a bunch of trained villians just with a knife and his enormous balls^^ well if you are in for a short bloody messy enjoyment you should try this book, i recommend to take a look into the book first, i have 2 paperback books and will read the kindle edition if they say, make it half the price i mean the books are old and you can buy them used for maybe 1 dollars each so 20 bucks are just too expensive

1.0 out of 5 stars " Junk " writing at its best 17 Oct 2010

This book was horrible by the time I got 20 pages into it.....unbelievable plot and the hero of the books dialogue was sophomoric. I would have felt better using a the 20 bucks I spent on this to wipe my back side than on this poor excuse at science fiction.
