Product Description

From the Back Cover

The approach to the twenty-first century has seen an upheaval in human consciousness. Money and power are no longer enough to safety out deepest needs. Our growing thirst for wholeness has led us to reclaim the spirituality of the past, the Elder Faiths of our Pagan ancestors.

While rooted in ancient tradition, Paganism is a living religious movement. It is a way of life which teaches reverence for all creation. Paganism reflects a concern for our planet which is unparalleled among other modern belief systems.

In 'Phoenix From the Flame', Vivianne Crowley introduces Paganism today, its history and its many modern forms. A wealth of practical and insightful advice sheds new light on what it means to be a Pagan in today’s changing world.

Author of the best-selling 'Wicca: The Old Religion in the New Age', Vivianne Crowley is a priestess, a teacher of the Pagan way and a leading figure in the revival of Western Paganism. She has a doctorate in psychology and has trained in transpersonal therapy.

Format: Paperback
i bought this book after reading vivianne crowley's 'principle's of paganism' which i found very well-written and concise. To be honest i expected this to be more informative than it was. It gives the basics of different pagan pathways but at times can be a bit vague, relying strongly on quotes rather than giving a personal view. The information isn't very practical but there is a very good list of resources similar to 'principle's...'. ms. crowley's style of writing is very evocative and gives the reader a nice taste of what it is like to live the pagan ways. This book has virtually no information on shamanism or odinism, or the seasonal festivals. i would recommend it to someone who is curious and interested in a broad overview of modern paganism.

This is not a how-to book. Instead it richly and beautifully describes some of the many paths within modern paganism. This was one of my first books I read on paganism, and I still find time to re-read it.If you are new to paganism or want to go beyond the '101 books' and explore other pagan paths then get this book.

This little paperback book was largely appreciated by virtue of its content, I have a particular interest in Paganism and Druid culture and in fact all things Mother Earth related.
