Welcome to the world of Ajay Bakshi (Shah Rukh Khan) and Ria Banerjee (Juhi Chawla), journalists working with rival television channels, K-TV and Galaxee, respectively. Encouraged by their bosses, Kaka Chowdhary (Satish Shah) and Mr Chinoy (Dalip Tahil), the two indulge in a game of one-upmanship, or one-upwomanship as the case may be. Which gives them a chance to break into a song every now and then, proclaiming 'I am the best!'

The plot takes a serious turn when the two get caught in an ugly political battle between chief minister Mushran (Govind Namdeo) and opposition leader Ramakant Dua (Shakti Kapoor). This is where the film gets enmeshed in cliches -- with portrayals of the predictable politician-journo nexus, the mandatory rape scene, the helpless police commissioner (Anjan Srivastava) and an innocent victim (Paresh Rawal.) And, finally, a belief in the power of the common man.

If you want a bit of comedy, a bit of action, a bit of romance, a bit of politics and some very enjoyable music and dance, well, this is the movie to watch ! Personnaly i love shahrukh and juhi together, and he excels in roles which give him much more to do than just romance a girl... I would've given it 5 stars, but i got really annoyed that it didn't have subtitles for the songs !!!!! (its the same for the DIL SE dvd !) even though you can understand what the song is about (and you can also check the songs on YOUTUBE with subtitles !!), the songs are just as important as the rest... especially in this movie, the song PHIR BHI DIL HAI HINDUSTANI says quite a lot in relation to the movie (but other than that, its always nice to know what they're saying !!!)

Its a little old and outdated but still has a great storyline and of course incredible songs. I love the inspirational song " I am the Best ". One of my favorites.
