Do you have to have an alarm sound or can you just have the light on its own? I have a DAB radio that I'd prefer to use for that instead. 19 Nov 2014
Yep you can just have the light come on and no sound
Width approx 8.5 inches. Height approx 8.5 inches. Depth approx 6 inches. Difficult to be more precise because (as you can probably see from the picture) the front of the lamp is not flat but rounded which makes exact measurements hard to give.
Can you use it just as a radio, without setting the alarm and having to wait for it to come on? 2 Feb 2015
Yes, it can be used as as just a radio. Also, just a lamp.

Does this use the same cheap and unreliable radio component as Philips' other Wake-Up lights? (i.e. FM only with cheap trailing wire 'arial') 1 Oct 2014
The arial is a trailing wire. i haven't used the radio but I would certainly recommend the product.
There is a volume setting for the alarm and you can have it so it increases. I find it very loud when it gets towards to end of the setting.
I'm away from my wake up light at the moment to double check, but I'm reasonably sure that sunset is the light only and not the radio and/or other sounds.
