Bought this after reading the positive reviews and becoming tired of switching between remotes to handle devices. I know, even i can't believe i just said i became tired of lifting up a different remote from the remote stand! hard life ain't it?
Anyway, The remote itself is a neat and tidy replacement for over sized tired looking remote controlos for a suprisingly large amount of home devices.
In little under 10 minutes i had it programmed to be using my Sky+ box, DVD player and television. It also comes with codes for my Toshiba suround system, but offers very basic controls.
I found that by manually enetering codes rather than the auto scan function was allot quicker in terms of set up, on that note, for any one using a Sky+ box, please enter code 0555 under STB setting. my box is made by Thomson and i wasted a bit of time trying to enter the codes supplied untill that one came to my attention, in the list of codes supplied with the device.
OK, I'm none too bothered about goig on about the specs of the remote, it's ergonomically pleasing and works like a charm, even on the most random and oldest brands.
the only 2 and very harsh reasons i did not give it 5 stars is that on some devices the remote is a little out of sync, but nothing that the Learn function cannot sort out and secondly that it is a little rigid in terms of build quality, it just feels a bit cheap.
PLEASE DO NOT LET THAT PUT YOU OFF! this is a cracking bit of kit that will be much appreciated and comes highly reccomended as a one for all.
