I have the previous spot on with 3 led lights. They did the job but not as bright as the new model and not light sensitive so came on even in bright sunshine. The new model is much improved. There is only one LED but the light output is much greater then the prev model as it has a lens that gives a much wider and stronger beam. the light is not as White as the prev model. Bonus of new model is only activated in darker conditions(light sensitive). Saves the battery during day time. I have mine in the bathroom. No "big light" moments during the night and a couple of these are good enough to light up the bathroom to do your business. If you hVe the previous model the fitting of these are identical so you can leave the fixing intact and just replace the tops. The batteries supplied ain't fantastic just buy a few good quality rechargeable. Note that the light will activate in a dimly lit room

I needed to find some way of illuminating my under-stairs cupboard so that I wasn't always rummaging around in the dark, or having to go into the various menus of my smartphone to get the LED on that to light my way. I was assuming the answer would be some sort of press-on-press-off solution, but then I came across the Spoton Ultra by Philips.
I had seen it's predecessor, the one with the three LEDs, but obviously wanted the latest version, and read with some amusement the various comments people had made. Some people seem to be asking a bit too much for what seems to me to be a purely functional device for short-term lighting duty.
Don't expect this to be for constant use. Don't use it for decorative lighting up your stairwell or over your kitchen worktops. Don't use it for applications where you need a light to be on for any great length of time. If you do, you will probably be disappointed, either with the fact that the light only stays on for a short time, or because constant use will probably drain the batteries over a relatively short period of time. Oh, and it's a bit indifferent to ambient light.
But for me and my understairs cupboard, when fixed into place, this little beauty has actually achieved more than I set out thinking I would get, and for the price I paid through amazon, it did it at good value. A basic on-off LED light in my local Tesco I think was about a fiver, so for the extra quid that this set me back, I got an automated on-off sensor light with a new super-bright LED from a reputable firm like Philips.
I would like to see in future models, a wider angle sensor, a control to adjust the daylight sensitivity and a control to adjust the length of time that the light stays on.
But as this does more than I had set out to achieve for the same price, I'm more than happy to give it 5 stars.

Only stays on for 15 seconds, but will light a large wardrobe well. I like that it can be fixed with a sticky pad, screwed in place or attached magnetically.

Ideal for in cupboard lighting
These lights are great for lighting dark inside cupboards. Only operating in the dark and when motion is detected they operate when and only when you need them.

Light for city bug boot.

Disappointing light sensitvity
OK for a dark cupbords and closets.
