The webcam arrived in good time, and good condition. However, when I tried to install it, I encountered problems. I tried to use the cd provided to install the necessary drivers 3 times. When that didn't work, I scoured the internet and tried the drivers from the Philips website. Tried to install them 2 or 3 times and it didn't seem to work. I decided to have one last go with a driver I found on another website, which finally worked and my computer eventually recognised the camera.
Now it is installed it works well, the resolution isn't great, but ok for the price. The way it attaches is a bit clumsy for a laptop, and I've ended up blu-tacking it to my laptop. It isn't as compact as I'd expected. So all in all, I'd recommend one which works without having to install drivers and not recommend this one for laptop users.

Works. But once the era changed from xp to win7 it was not so easy to find a driver to use these, kinda started acting weird, and on the linux machine, it does not work. The driver is not that easily available on the philips site, google search would take you to some 3rd party site, which made wonder about their genuineness. And the knob around the lens to change the focus can be even turned beyond the thread available, into out of focus area. Not sure why it was designed that way.

It crashed 2 pc's running vista when i installed it. I tried it on 3 other pc's running 1.windows 7 pro 2.windows xp sp3 and 3.windows vista x64/x32. It worked on all but Vista.
