I've tried so many pairs of headphones for running / gym I've lost count. Mostly they fell out of my ears or rotted (gross I know but everyone sweats when they run, right?!). These totally buck the trend - they're brilliant. I'm going to break this down a bit so I don't just rhapsodise...
Fit / construction: the band is so light you forget it's there. I have a big head (hard to get hats kind of big...) but the band doesn't touch me - so no occipital bone pressure and no headache. The band is not adjustable so if you're tiny maybe it would be too big - can't really comment on that. The ear buds go right in your ear and stay there (I have BIG ears but these fit well - and there are three sizes...). The wire is 60cm long for armband users, so no cable bouncing around and there's an extension cable if you carry your iPod lower.
Hygiene: You can wash the ear buds under the tap. No more rotting! (Sorry - I know that's really disgusting - I'm just being honest.) Apparently the ear caps are anti microbial too...
Sound: I really noticed the isolation - far less outside noise breaking through. My running tracks tend to be fairly bass heavy - and this set does pretty well on that score. Nothing lacked bass but it didn't drown the rest of the music out. Also very little reverb when the iPod is on full volume. Definitely no tinniness.
Technical: These have a remote on the cable (very narrow - not annoying - although it's a bit high up the cable but that's really picking holes) which controls volume, play / pause, next / previous track and has a mic for calls. *** NOTE*** Although audio is supported on all models (with the latest software), the remote functions are only supported if you're using the later generations of iPod. Here's a list of which models are supported -
iPod touch - 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen
iPod classic - 120GB and 160GB only
iPod nano - 4th, 5th and 6th gen
iPod shuffle - 3rd and 4th gen
iPhone 4
iPhone 3GS
iPad

Love these. Very comfortable, and do not provide noise from the wind when running like most others do. Like the fact they have a short cable as well, with the extension if needed for times when your iPod is in your pocket.
But how is the sound quality? Brilliant; my other headphones are seinhiessers, and these beat them hands down.

I've tried several brands of in-ear headphones -- from the £10 level (Sony MDR-W08L Headphones to the £80 plus. And none deliver the combination of:
- sound quality [1];
- comfort;
- the ability to stay in place;
- no itching/irritation.
These headphones are clearly engineered for running, and they serve that purpose extremely well.
I _love_ that you can wear these with a hat.
They don't block out all ambient noise, and I wouldn't want them to; there are a few jeeps in the (London) Royal Parks.
They stay in place so well because:
1. The anchor point of the cord to the neckband is behind the left ear. You can keep the cord out of the way, down your back or across your chest (underneath your clothing).
2. The ear buds are _soft_ and rubbery, and don't cause the mild pain/irritation. As your running stamina increases, you can keep these on for longer periods. (They're so comfortable that I sometimes forget to take them out when the music has finished playing)
I wonder how long it will take before I wear these out - I suppose it's inevitable. The neckband is durable, so I have high expectations. Only time will tell. I shall keep this review updated
