Philips SHN2500 Headphones,Wired, PHILIPS SHN2500 EARPHONES- NOISE CANCELLING
Firstly, I own several pairs of headphones and love music. I like to review products fairly, and give credit where it is due. With this said, the Philips SHN2500 are the worst pair I have ever owned! I brought these for a long haul flight, mainly because I thought the noise-cancelling would be OK. The noise cancelling does not exist, all it does is fill the blanks in the song with a hissing sound. On the flight I found it quieter with the noise cancelling off!
Why these headphones should be avoided:

1. The noise cancelling is merely a hissing sound to prevent you hearing any background.
2. The noise cancelling block is large and impractical, and cannot be placed in your trouser pocket as the wire is not long enough. If it hangs down it pulls the earbuds out of your ear. So you either have to hold it or place it in a top pocket.
3. The sound quality is poor and considerably worse than the apple earphones that come free with iPods.
4. The earbuds are very uncomfortable.
5. The battery has to be replaced constantly.

I cannot think of any good things about these headphones. Don't waste the money, for £40 you can buy a good pair of in headphones.

These where my first noise cancelling headphones: they have a good sound with clean trebles and quite deep bass. They are quite effetcive in cancelling low frequency noises, like airplane buzz or vacuum cleaner buzz. They don't complete cancel noises they rather shift the buzz from inside your head to a more 'external' (and less annoying) feeling. This pair had been stolen with my bag, I'll definitively have a new pair!
