I recently purchased the Philips SE6552B/05 XD cordless phone after having read mixed, but mostly positive reviews. The handset itself looks good and the fact that one needs to set up the phonebook only once and can do it from either handset (as opposed to having to re-enter every number separately on each handset) is a great feature. But I'm afraid that's where its positive attributes end. The reaction time of the menu buttons (ie. Redial and Phonebook buttons) is slow, which can be frustrating when one is in a hurry. There is a flashing light on the phone when one has missed calls which will only stop flashing if one views all the missed call numbers, which is unnecessary. Finally, the sound quality is very disappointing, as - when on the phone- the person on the other end of the line sounds like he/she is talking from a speakerphone (well, it's almost that bad). Also the choice for wallpaper and ring tones is quite limited. This is not a phone that's worth considering. I'm sure there are much better cordless phones out there for less money.
