Got a 6th generation ipod nano at Christmas, and five months later was so fed up of Itunes crashing and the ipod telling me songs werent compatible (even after theyd been converted) I was looking for something of roughly the same size with no hassles. Having had a Philips MP3 player in the past (which incidentally still works after years but was just a bit big to be comfortably pocket sized) I went back to a brand I trusted.
The player arrived this afternoon (very quick delivery) and I've already downloaded tuns of music onto it. Didn't bother with any software, just plugged it and dropped music files into the MP3's playlist folder. No problems at all.
What I really love about Philips players is that I never have to convert any songs. This little player is playing multiple formats with no problems and also has a radio built into it which is a nice little bonus. The headphones do feel a bit flimsy but for £25 I don't really mind if I have to replace them relatively soon and the sound quality is fine unless your a total audiophile.
Don't waste your money on anything more expensive!

After several laps in search of a product that meets my needs I think I found the right product to my expectations, this MP3 player has a perfectly clean sound. If I had met before, would have saved me wasting time spinning. It's also stupidly easy to use thanks to its color-screen menus and its software, this is very useful for people like me nervous impatience. I am very happy with my purchase.

.......... the first ( and probably the only) MP3 player I have purchased. Delivery was prompt , the only downer was buying the recommended plug charger that I found was not needed ! I'm very pleased with the player , the 2Gb storage is fine. I thought about a larger one, but in the end the 2Gb holds more than enough content. For the amount of time I will use it , coach trips etc. , so only a few hours at a time , only a small amount of the library will in use ........so, plenty space !................. The sound is very good , lots of variations including a manual equalizer....... loading is really easy , playback choices and the menu system took only moments to master. I ditched the Audible "free" gift as soon as (been there before - you try cancelling the membership without incurring a cost , you can't).......... and the same thing with the music download system , I got rid of it,s set up too, as it took up an LP's worth of tunes space !.......... So "chuck out the chitnz" and you'll have a great player , at great value ! It's gone up by a tenner since last week , but still worth the value........I'm very happy !
I didn't have any idea that it plays video , I'll have to go back to it to check it out........although I'm doubtful that I'll use it ......... unless I get a pair of binoculars !
