Stubble Settings
There are 20 secured length settings from which you can select. Locks-in your desired length within a versatile range of possible lengths from 0.5 mm up to 10 mm. If you want a short stubble of 0.5 mm for a perfect 5 o' clock shadow look, use the trimmer without the trimming comb. Cutter width of the trimmer is 32 mm, the range of length settings is from 0.5 up to 10 mm and Precision (size of steps) by 0.5 mm
How to get the best results

Philips QT4022 Pro Stubble Trimmer
I bought this trimmer over a month ago, and, as a review, I will simply list the pros and cons below:
Pros:
Delivered the next day on the free delivery service
At half price, it is a bargain
The plug/adaptor is only about the same size and weight as an ordinary plug
The head is just the right width to trim a beard
The blade is very sharp and efficient
Although not actually locked, the settings are secure and do not slip in use
It holds a good charge; far more than I needed for every trim so far
I can easily maintain a shaped, short beard
I do not use it for stubble myself, but the trimmer is very efficient
Cons:
Tiny usage information leaflet, however, you can download a much larger adobe file
There are no instructions at all on how to trim and shape a short beard
You must be very careful to keep the head flat to the face or it cuts much shorter
The settings do not correspond perfectly with the numbers on the dial
The plastic foil head seems a little flimsy, although I have had no problems so far
It is hard to get the brush inside the opened head; you need to blow the hairs out
I cannot imagine why you would want to wash an electrical item under a tap
The plug/adapter is a three pin, not the two pin as shown in the diagram
Although maneuverable, the trimmer is unnecessarily long
There is no case/travel pouch
At full cost, I think it is much overpriced, and I would not have bought one

Stubble trimmers are great inventions. They allow men to maintain a groomed stubble look very easily. Since the cutting surface never comes into contact with the skin it's 100% comfortable with no irritation. I find I don't even need to use it every single day, it being a less exact science than shaving, and generally much quicker to use than a full shave. In fact it's tempting to never shave again, and go for the stubble look instead. When I do shave however the trimmer can be used to trim my stubble down to 0.5mm and this makes normal shaving much more comfortable rather than suffering the drag and irritation from shaving off a longer beard.
I've used stubble trimmers for some time and this one might be the best one so far. It doesn't have some of the technological features like some others like LCD displays and motorised length settings, instead having a simple chunky wheel to turn to alter the trimming length. This is better in my opinion - on other models such as the Babyliss I-stubble this is made from quite flimsy plastic with more things to go wrong. The shortest hair length setting is 0.5mm, longer than some, but fine to maintain a shadow look (I prefer my stubble a little longer). It's worth experimenting with settings to find the best one, after allowing a good few days of beard growth first.
The trimmer feels very sturdy, with a rubberised surface on one side to provide a good grip and an attractive shiny red surface on the other. The comb has a polished shiny plastic surface on the underside (the part touching the face when the trimmer is used) allowing it to effortlessly glide along the face.
The best feature of all is that it can be washed under the tap, being waterproof. I've never had a stubble trimmer before with this feature, even though eletric shavers often do. It makes cleaning so much easier, as my old trimmer always was tricky to clean with bits of hair in all the nooks and crannies.
I'd recommend a stubble trimmer to any man wanting a groomed stubble look, they allow me to keep my stubble at the perfect point and not end up with a scruffy beard, and make it look like stubble is an intended look and not laziness. Sometimes it's just so much easier to go for the semi-groomed unshaven look rather than the full wet shave and the risk of, in my case, possible razor rash for an hour afterwards. as such I have sufficed the last few years with the pop out sideburn trimmer on my Philips electric razor. The main frustration of that has always been that it only has the one, fairly close, setting on it.
So it was with some interest that I approached this device. First off I was very impressed with its looks, the black and red and attractive contours making a most stylish addition to the bathroom. Those contours are also practical, of course, and the device is pleasingly ergonomically friendly and slip proof.
With 20 length settings to choose from it took a little experimenting to find the length I wanted, but hey, it's a gadget and all guys enjoys playing with gadgets when we get them, right? also, better to have too many setting than not enough! The selector wheel makes it a breeze to change between settings and, personally, I prefer the more 'hands on' approach of a wheel to the electronic versions that are also available.
As to the trimming itself, it was fast, painless and efficient. Three qualities I like when it comes to facial hair! As someone with sensitive skin I had no problems. The blades seem very sharp so there was no tugging or catching and I was left with a nice even lawn of stubble without looking scruffy!
For those who enjoy a bit of facial topiary then this will probably do the job as well as any if you have the patience and time!
The battery only lasts for an hour after a lengthy charge time (I just left it charging overnight), but you should still get quite a few trims in from one charge.
Lastly, it can be rinsed and washed under the tap, or even in the shower if you want to multitask so no need for faffing about looking for the little brushes any more!
Overall, I would say maybe a little pricey, but a good quality item with an attractive, sturdy build that will do the job it's meant to and do it well at that!
