Fantastic 31 Dec 2009
I am thrilled by the lovely tone, and love the different pop, classiscal rock etc settings, everything works well, the CD player plays both CD's and MP3's. The USB socket copes well with IPods. The internet radio works brilliantly as does the Universal plug & play If like me the router is infrequently turned off then the freestanding FM radio is great. The 40 Watts RMS operates beautifully the inclusion of a cooling fan was a good inclusion, heat is never good in electronics.
Installation was easy though typing the WEP code was laborious.
This was possibly the best purchase I have made.

The future of radio!! 12 Sep 2010
By C. Buck
I bought the Philips MCi300 as a gift for my wife and she is thrilled to bits with it. As we are in an area that struggles to get a decent DAB signal, a radio which allowed internet streaming seemed to be the way to go. Setting up the hifi was fairly simple. To stream music from your PC, you just need to allow media player to communicate with the hifi and then you have full access to your music collection from the hifi as long as your PC is turned on although media player doesnt need to be running after the initial setup.

In order to listen to internet radio, you will need to register an account with several of the stations. This is free although premium accounts which require payment are available which will give you more channels. I had a problem connecting to the RadioTime station which broadcasts mainstream national and commercial stations. In order to get this to work, I had to upgrade the firmware on the hifi which was easy enough for me to do but a technophobe might struggle as it involves downloading the correct version from the web and installing it.

The sound quality from this hifi is excellent and the use interface and controls are simple to use. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hifi to anyone who is on the lookout for a new system and has wireless internet capabilities.
