I have to agree with the other reviewers, it's a really neat hifi and have had no issues with the build or quality.
Two features let it down (one of which i should have researched a little more): Not fully compatible with iPod - I need to put my ipod into disk mode to be able to use the remote control which isn't ideal. song details appear, but the display is too small to read what is playing at a glance as the screen is very simplistic and too small. ipod functionality is not possible, i.e. scrolling through albums or playlists and can only cope with up to approx. 900 songs. This is purely my naievity as it doesn't claim to be ipod comptaible, but if you buy it to use with an ipod just beware that the only real option is to play items on random. Secondly the ability to connect via aux would be useful All in all it's a great little hifi, especially if you have music on a usb stick / memory card or other non-ipod device and you aren't too worried about connectivity.

This is a great little unit. Lots of features that can usually only be found together on much more expensive ones! The Remote control operates almost all of the units functions. DAB is great and easy to use and produces a clear sound. USB connection is fantastic and the ability to control the USB device that's plugged in, from the units remote control is great and an excellant feature. The Cd is easy to operate and again the remote control allows you full control, plus I like the ability to pick individual tracks by selecting a number on the remote, which is layed out in numbers from 1 to 0 in the style of a phone. The unit produces a reasonable sounds quality and the price was brilliant for a decent brand named unit with all these features. However I would have prefered a slightly bigger LCD screen to display more information at once rather than it scrolling accross the screen, but this does not reduce the viewing ability that's displayed or the display quality. Also it would have been nice to have had the facility to be able to connect auxiliary equipment via audio cable connection's in the back. But I did know this was not an option prior to buying it. The Philips website allows you to read their owners manuels and product specification in detail prior to buying, this I did as it allows you to really check to make sure the unit will perform as what you want it to, prior to buying it.

I bought this mirco system a couple of months ago and its been one of the best purchases I've made on Amazon! It does exactly what it say's on the tin (or box in the case) sound quality is very good, not had problem playing music from cd, or mp3 and the DAB radio work realy well.
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a micro system which is very good value for money!
