Philips is known for making products which are compatible with many discs available in the market. This audio system lets you enjoy music from CD, CD-R and CD-RW. A single CD can store up to 10 hours of music. CD-RW (CD-Rewritable Compatible) means that your audio system can play both CD-Recordable (CD-R) and CD-Rewritable (CD-RW) discs. CD-R discs are recordable once and can be played on any audio CD player while CD-RW discs can be recorded and rewritten multiple times and can only be played back on compatible audio CD players.

Dynamic Bass Boost maximises your music enjoyment by emphasising the bass content of the music throughout the range of volume settings - from low to high – at the touch of a button! Bottom-end bass frequencies usually get lost when the volume is set at a low level. To counteract this, Dynamic Bass Boost can be switched on to boost bass levels, so you can enjoy consistent sound even when you turn down the volume.

I purchased this Hifi for myself as my old one had given up the ghost! I didn't want anything too big and clumsy looking and this fits the bill fantastically. The sound off it is great and it fits in easily in any room in the house. Well worth the money and I would highly recommend it.

I bought this barely 18 months ago mainly for the radio, and the CD player has stopped working after really minimal use. The radio quality is good, but the remote control is so fiddly that you need to put your glasses on to read it!

I was looking for a new system as my old one had a broken cd player,I decided to buy the Philips MC235B Micro HiFi system as its looks were impressive.
It was extremely easy to set up and the slimness of the unit is ideal for the space,which is a medium sized room, it was intended for.
The cd lid raises up and the cd is front loaded, the remote that comes with the unit is quite small but easy to use.
The sound from the cd and radio is of a good quality and it is very easy to find the station you want to listen to.
All in all I am very pleased with the purchase I have made.
