What a funky product. The LivingColors Gen 2 lets us be lighting designers in our own home. By casting a coloured light slash up any wall we are able to set the desired mood for our evening. With the vast selection of colours we can also match it to the colour scheme of the room. We can adjust the light intensity and the colour intensity. The remote control is easy to use but, should we want to keep a certain setting for easy set-up in the future, it is possible to save your fave!
We can also set it to gradually (or quickly) change through the colour range which gives a dynamic mood to the room.
The unit itself is very stylish so there is no need to try to hide it. Saying that, we currently have ours under the bed bounding off the wall at the headboard making a very subtle lighting effect and a very peaceful sleeping environment. OK... If I'm honest, we use the RC to make it a passionate purple or red for (wink, wink) and then let it go through a gradual colour change when we are drifting off to sleep.
This is a great product and amazing value. It is nice that there is a non-RC model for about half the price in case someone can't quite stretch to the more expensive version in these tough economic times.
My only niggle is that it arrived in its own box without any sealing tape or protection from the delivery service. It is lucky that the couriers were honest and didn't pinch the RC unit from inside the box. Usually I am perfectly happy with the service at Amazon, but they slipped up this time. I have had dozens of excellent experiences at Amazon and I am truly a fan so I hope that this isn't the new way of things to come.
I would give this product a 9.5 out of 10!

I must confess I was not expecting too much when I purchased this light but I have to say that i was pleasantly surprised by the amount of light that is emitted.
It really is quite bright and the colour spectrum available is amazing. It is not going to replace a ceiling light, but it will give a lovely tone to the room from which you can read, rest or the other thing!!! ;o)
All in all, a good buy, give it a try.

I received this lamp from Amazon and unpacked it. The first and only problem I encountered was when I tried to load the batteries in the remote control.
The remote control was so hard to prise apart that the securing tab broke off. I overlooked this at first but when the base of the remote kept falling off I new it was time to complain. This is the part where I went wrong by emailing Phillips. I took this course of action because I think they have a design problem. After a few days I was telephoned by Philip's in the Netherlands. The man from Phillips told me to print off a free return label and post it back for replacement. That was the last I heard of my remote control as Phillips said they did not receive it and offered no suggestions. So I had a lamp which did not work as I needed a remote control. This is the point when I did what I should have done in the first place and called Amazon. The help I received from Amazon was first class and in two days I had a new lamp and sent the old one back next day. As Amazon told me never contact the maker always call Amazon.

Excellent ambient lighting
