Amazon Verified Purchase
Having used tape for dictation in the past I was more than ready to go digital but was put off by performance vs price. I bought this on recommendation from the Times on Sunday (28/03/2010) and it has proven to be an excellent purchase. Simple to use, straightforward instructions (in 18 languages no less!). It is lightweight, simple and smart. I use it with Dragon voice recognition software on my Samsung NC10 netbook. It enables me to record a few chapters, download onto the PC and the Dragon software converts the file into text for me, a real breeze. I also use it at business meetings and email the recording to participants while we are still in the room shaking hands - so no escape for those who promised action at the meeting! It also comes complete with rechargeable batteries, USB lead, external mic. and a headset. Practical, good quality and easy to use.

Having seen this on the Nuance website being given a 'five star' rating for use with Dragon Naturallyspeaking (and without an additional microphone, even), I bought it to see if it would aid me with dictation work. I am getting extraordinary accuracy results - 95-99%. This bad boy is the business.

I am a vocal student. I need this kind of thing to recording some class or check my voice. This one is very good for me, is the most clearly one I have ever used!

phillips voice recorder
The digital playback on this model is worse than my analogue recorder of 20 years vintage. I returned the first one as I thought it was faulty, but the replacement is just as bad. Read more
