I already buy Nivea products. Their Q10 cream is excellent, it lasts ages (as you only need use a spot) and is coming down in price to under a tenner. As it's a moisturiser I put it on and don't wash it off.
I received some of this Coolskin stuff ('balm' or 'conditioner') with my rotary shaver. There are no instructions as to how to use the cream, neither on the bottle itself nor in the shaver's user guide.
My main concern is whether I should wash it off as I would a shaving gel or leave it on as I would, say, Nivea's after shave balm.
I'm just a bit bemused as to what this stuff is supposed to 'do', either with or without the accompanying shaver..
When used whilst shaving with the HS machine, my razored-off stubble mixes with the gel into an interesting but unattractive slurry. I can't imagine leaving that on and going out with a swirly black pattern of grime on me fizog. So that would suggest to me that it should be washed off. It's fundamental function therefore being solely that of a lubricant.
Some reviewers suggest that the shaver requires this stuff in order to function. Not at all, other stuff can be massaged on before you shave. I would personally avoid heavily scented balms or shaving foams, but there are excellent clear shaving gels available (designed to let you see where you're going when shaving) which would do just a good a job, if not better and more cheaply.
