4.0 out of 5 stars Philips HR7600 Comfort Compact Food Processor, 23 Sep 2003
This processor is better than any other. The motor is powerful enough for heavy duty jobs like making peanut butter; it doesn't overheat when I make mayonnaise. The only drawback I have found is that you can't use add dried fruit to a cake mixture until the end as it gets chopped into tiny pieces! I still prefer my Kitchen Aid for whipping egg whites and making bread dough.
The different size bowls are great when you just want to make a small quantity of something. It's easy to clean and safe to use - you can't start the motor unless the lid is firmly in place. I do think it could be easier to get hold of spare parts, especially the bowl and lid -they do wear out a long time before the motor.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and cheerful and stores easily, 19 Jan 2004
By A Customer
The best thing about this gadget is that it all fits together in the bowl for storing away. So far I have used it for making Humous (Chick peas (1 tin), tahini - if you have it (1 desertspoon), lemon juice (a good squeeze of the jif), garlic (2 or 3 cloves or a desertspoon of garlic paste) and olive oil (added until you get the right consistency.) Chuck it all in with the main blade on and obliterate until it looks right. Saves a fortune on the supermarket price.

Also shreds lettuce like they have in the kebab shop. Lovely and fine and loads of it from 1 lettuce. Chops onions without the tears and has a grater attachments for carrots and cheese.

Because it stores so compactly, it means you can keep it handy rather than storing it away in a distant cupboard which I know I would do if it was large and cumbersome.
